The armiger has a genealogical line to ancestors in the Isle of Wight (Virginia USA) in the early 1630's. However, the Penningtons have circumstantial evidence that this branch of Penningtons is linked to cadet branches of the Penningtons of Muncaster, Cumberland/Cumbria, England. For this reason the armiger drew inspiration from the Pennington of Muncaster arms (Or, five fusils in fess Azure) but heavily differenced the armorial achievement. The choice of Or and Azure as primary colours of the arms pays tribute to Pennington of Muncaster as does the crest and motto chosen.

The armiger holds a degree in finance from the University of Louisville, Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant designations from The American College, a Chartered Wealth Advisor designation from Michigan State University, a Certified Financial Planner designation from the College of Financial Planning, and (at the time of publication) is currently completing a Master’s in Business Administration from Indiana University and a Juris Doctor (equivalent to a LLB in England) from Northwestern California University in addition to several securities and insurance licenses.
