He is Knight of Magisterial Grace of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta, a Knight Commander of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem of the Holy See, a Knight of Merit with Star of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George of the Royal House of Bourbon of the Two Sicilies (Kingdom of Spain) and a Knight of the Order of Merit of the Royal House of Savoy of Italy. The Arms of Don Umberto Pio de Paulo dei Paolone (1782) under S.M. Ferdinando I, King of the Two Sicilies (Italia) were first assumed sometime during the 12th century by Giovanni de Paulo, Barone del Regno di Napoli e Nobile di Sessa, under Guglielmo II, Norman King of Naples.
Professor de Paulo is a recognized philosopher and theologian, who has published several books and articles. He is Rector of the Collegium Augustinianum Graduate School of Philosophy and Theology in Orlando, Florida, USA.
