The lion passant represents integrity and strength in adversity. The magic wand signifies the armigerís knowledge of the art of magic. The open-winged book with torch represents the strive for academic excellence and achievement, with the portcullis demonstrating a passion for parliamentary democracy and work for the UK Parliament.

The armiger began his career as a clinical scientist for the NHS before moving into academia and the UK Ministry of Defence where he has been involved in medical device regulation and quality continuing in this profession ever since. He has had many papers published within scientific journals around healthcare and has been called upon to provide written and oral evidence to the UK Parliament, especially within the House of Lords, and continues to help write International and European Standards as they pertain to healthcare. He was awarded the British Citizen Award medal in 2021 for changing UK healthcare policy in wound care.
