The Arms of Edward Allan McNabb

The armiger, a Barrister and Solicitor, has long been active in community organizations having served on the boards of directors of West End Legal Services of Ottawa (a community legal clinic); the Ontario Association of Legal Clinics; the Royal Heraldry Society of Canada and the Carleton University Alumni Association.

As of 2006, he is the Rector’s Warden of Christ Church Cathedral, the Anglican Cathedral in Canada’s capital. He is also Vice-President of Ottawa’s Centretown Churches Social Action Committee (CCSAC) whose primary program is the operation of a food bank, the Centretown Emergency Food Centre, which is open to people of any faith who are in need. He is also Vice President of the Capital Region Interfaith Council. The council provides a forum for dialogue among the faith communities to enhance mutual understanding while foster action on common interests and concerns The council does this through interfaith activities that promote peace, justice, and caring for the Earth. In addition, the armiger also participates in the City of Ottawa’s Interfaith Ottawa initiative.

In 2002, the armiger’s commitment to the community and his work in promoting heraldry in Canada was recognized when he received the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal. In 2005 he received Canada’s Department of Justice’s Humanitarian Excellence Award.
